My love of rugs is no secret, and over the years I have gotten pretty good at finding rugs I love at great prices. I also love helping others pick out rugs for their space, because, well, I can't buy EVERYTHING for my house! I'd love to share some tips for finding a rug you love.
Most of the rugs currently in our home are by Loloi. I adore their collaborations with Rifle Paper Co., Chris Loves Julia, Amber Lewis and Angela Rose Home. I highly recommend checking out those lines if you're in the market for a rug. Different lines offer different textures. My hands down, absolute favorite are the CloudPile rugs--it feels quite literally like you are walking on a cloud. SO soft! However, I also enjoy printed rugs with no pile, too. I find that works well in our high-traffic laundry/mud room. Those are more like a mat and aren't plush, but they definitely have their place. I really enjoy the texture some of the Loloi x Amber Lewis rugs have--they aren't totally smooth and flat like some, but have kind of a thin, knobby texture that looks so beautiful in a room.
I recommend going as large as you can with a rug. For years, I always bought an 8x10 or just under for our den, but when I got an 8.5x11.5, it looked so much better and really settled the room. I've tried to do the same in other areas. I recently purchased an 11x15 Loloi x Angela Rose Home rug for our living room. It covers virtually all the room, but it looks so much better than a smaller rug in that large room.
And, of course, shop around! For Loloi rugs, I always check Amazon, Wayfair and Rugs-Direct. They will run different sales throughout the year, and at any given time, one is usually cheaper than the other. RugsUSA and Boutique Rugs are also great places to look for beautiful, quality rugs.
This Loloi rug is by Rifle Paper Co. and is super thin with no pile. I love it for an entry and an area you're not going to be sitting on the floor. The no pile Maison rug is also great in our laundry room that's very high-traffic. I got ours at HomeGoods for about half the retail price, but it's still a great deal online if you can't find one locally.
I just switched to this Amber Lewis x Loloi CloudPile rug and I am such a fan. I love the softness of the rug in there and the colors are so pretty. It's so cozy!
You can see I wasn't kidding, and I actually do have this rug in our house twice. I love the navy version, too, and recently moved it into the bedroom. It had been in the living room, and I needed a larger rug in there, and this one only goes up to 8x11.
I just switched out the rug in our den for an Amber Lewis x Loloi Morgan Cloudpile rug. The colors are saturated and perfect and it's softness makes it over-the-top.
I picked up this rug at HomeGoods (another great place to find rugs). I don't have a link, but it is Surya.
This Angela Rose Home Ember rug is massive at 11x15. I love its understated, geometric pattern. All rugs don't come in these large sizes, so your choices are usually a little smaller with oversized rugs.
